If you can develop some awareness of inner stillness, the object perspective will have less control as your mind agitations also quiet. Without these agitations the need to reach for an object never arises…
If you’re always seeing life strictly from the objects the eyes see, those objects will be judged accordingly and what’s truly going on to form those judgments will not be noticed. Although with object minded attachments life still goes on, it’s very limiting to the degree of being purely superficial; this is said because it’s how I lived for forty nine years and it caused my life to be a constant struggle. The constant struggle was self created and controlled by the object perspective, although this wasn’t understood at the time. An object perspective is one where there is constant reaching and the reaching is caused by arisen mind agitations which aren’t seen. This is why someone will reach for anything without giving it much thought regardless if it’s beneficial or not. It’s in that moment regardless if it’s a benefit or not that the Conditioned Mind will dictate it is beneficial, but this is a big fat lie.
The object perspective will only be noticed when the busy mind stops its incessant busyness. One will have to be able to be present for the busyness to subside; you will not see the essence of the forest if the mind is busy being focused on the trees. This object perspective is strictly mind based. The reason it’s not conducive to one’s well being and it’s unstable is because there are so many objects to see, one right after another. This is why the big fat lie is in the forefront of most lives and stillness takes a back seat. If you can develop some awareness of inner stillness, less and less the object perspective will be in control because the mind agitations will subside. It will be at this point that the need to reach for an object will be no more and it will probably be the first time in your life that this has happened.
