If the world is ever going to change, the selfish mind patterns in place will have to change. This will only happen when it’s seen these mind patterns aren’t providing beneficial results…
A selfish mind develops patterns to do certain things, and it will do just that whether you want it to or not; it has to do what patterns it has developed. Our mind becomes selfishly patterned the same way an operating system works. Unless it’s changed or at least upgraded to some degree, the selfish mind patterns will remain. It’s imperative to understand this so first the selfish mind patterns in place can be identified, and second the patterns that may not be serving you in the most beneficial way can be changed. Selfish mind patterns controlled my life for many years (forty nine years to be exact) until it was realized these patterns weren’t really benefitting me or anyone else for that matter. This realization is the beginning stages for the possibility of the selfish mind patterns to change. This will take some effort because of how ingrained they are, but the effort is more of about awareness than an actual exertion.
Once one becomes aware there may be another way to live, the process of changing the selfish mind patterns in place has begun. This is difficult because the mind wants to hold onto the familiar even if the familair isn’t providing much of a benefit. It’s how the dog chasing its tail syndrome remains in place; even at the point of its own destruction. Selfish mind patterns developed many tools and influences to do this, some inner, some outer. This is why when a person acts in a particular way, they‘re accountable, but not really responsible for what they do. If anything is ever going to change in our world, the selfish mind patterns in place will have to change. This will only happen when it’s seen the selfish mind patterns are doing what they were designed to do, but they aren’t providing the most beneficial results…
