When there’s a need to reach for something to quiet a mind agitation, one is imprisoned by this thought. Until this is understood, you will remain imprisoned to the thought that peace is in the next thing reached for…
You will never find the peace you’re seeking if you’re imprisoned by the thought of finding peace. Peace is something that’s already within each one of us, but because of the way our minds are imprisoned, we get held captive by the thought it’s something to find. Unfortunately this imprisonment makes the very thing you are seeking (peace) elusive. This imprisonment is the reason there is constant reaching for something from the outside and until this is understood, you will remain imprisoned by the thought that peace is in the next thing reached for. Pandemics, drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex, success, programs, therapy, self help books and on and on, this reaching is proof that you’ve been imprisoned. I can’t stress this enough as this imprisonment by your thoughts has to be seen if you are to truly experience peace.
No one thinks their way to peace, what does have to happen if you are to ever experience peace is there has to be an understanding of why there isn’t peace. The proof that you‘re not at peace is in the need to find it. When the need to reach for something arises, the imprisonment is done; this is a vicious cycle that’s very difficult to break. Peace isn’t something that can be attained or achieved so in doing less peace arises. Too many people get lost (imprisoned) trying to find peace, but since it’s something that’s already within you, the imprisoned thoughts about finding it need to be discarded so you can see. This isn’t easy, but in understanding that you’ve been imprisoned by the thought of not being at peace; peace simply arises…
