When there’s a need to reach for something it’s because of mind clinging. Until this is seen you will remain clinging as you seek to quiet the mind with the next thing reached for…
You will never find the peace you’re seeking if your mind clinging because the seeking is why you’re not at peace. Peace is something that’s already within everyone, but because of the way our minds are conditioned there’s mind clinging which makes one think peace is something on the outside. Unfortunately mind clinging makes the very thing you’re seeking impossible to grasp. Mind clinging is the reason you constantly reach for something from the outside. Until this is seen you’ll remain mind clinging thinking peace is in the next thing reached for. Alcohol, gambling, drugs, sex, religion, social status, programs, therapy, self help books, politics, and on and on, this reaching is proof that there’s mind clinging. I can’t stress this enough as this mind clinging has to be seen if you‘re to experience true peace in your life.
It’s impossible to think your way to understanding this. What has to happen if there’s to be an understanding of this is why you mind cling is because of the inability to just be. When the need to reach for something arises mind clinging begins. This mind clinging is a vicious cycle that’s very difficult to break. Breaking free of the mind and being at peace isn’t something attained or achieved so by doing less (detachment) peace is experienced. Too many people get lost (mind clinging) trying to find peace through the attachment to humanness, but since it’s something that’s already within you, the mind clinging is a circle because it becomes about finding what’s already there. This is not easy to see, but it’s why I share so the mind clinging can be seen for what it is; the cause of why you aren’t at peace…
The more we grasp for answers outside ourselves the more in the grasp of fear we are. When we look outside, its only because we are fearful of what we might find inside.
