It’s in the mindfulness of being not doing that one truly lives. The irony of this is when you’re mindful of being you can do just about anything that you want, but when there’s just doing, it’s very difficult to be…
One of the most difficult things in life is to keep your head in sync with where your feet are. The wandering mind wants to be every place except where you are and it will continue it’s wandering ways until something happens to change it. One of the tools of the Conditioned Mind is to stay so busy that the wandering mind keeps a person distracted, but this makes life very difficult. If you always have to be busy there’s not much time left for mindfulness of being; it’s in being not doing that we truly live. The irony of this is when you’re mindful of being you can do whatever you want, but when you’re unconsciously doing it’s difficult to be.
I had a conversation with a friend and we were discussing keeping your head where your feet are; the difficulty in doing this lies in the way the mind is conditioned. What I said to him was very simple, when you’re eating an apple just be with the eating; savor each bite. Enjoy the pleasure it brings you and the simplicity of just eating an apple; this is being mindful of the moment you’re in. There is no other moment that exist so you might as well be mindful of it. If you’re not, it’s your life that’s passing you by. It goes by anyway, but the more mindful you are of each moment, the more present you will be for your life…
